Are you planning to visit Indonesia for business purposes? Before your trip, it’s essential to understand the specifics of the Indonesian Business Visa. Here’s everything you need to know
Indonesian Business Visa: For Short-Term Visits Only
The Indonesian Business Visa is designed for short-term visits only. Unlike the KITAS, which allows for longer stays, the Business Visa enables foreign nationals to visit Indonesia for up to 60 days per validity period.
For holders of a single-entry Business Visa, you can extend the validity period up to two times. This allows a total stay of 180 days (6 months) in Indonesia.
If you opt for a multiple-entry Business Visa, there is no need to manually extend it after each validity period. This type of visa is ideal for those planning repeated trips or longer stays.
Restricted to Business Activities
It’s important to note that the Indonesian Business Visa is strictly intended for business-related activities. These activities include:
- Business negotiations
- Signing business contracts
- Conducting market research
- Attending seminars or conferences
- Participating in other business-related events
Additionally, Business Visa holders are permitted to take part in certain social activities while in Indonesia.
However, Business Visa holders are not allowed to work in Indonesia. For employment purposes, you must apply for a KITAS with the index C-312. The KITAS is specifically designed for longer stays and is suitable for foreign nationals working or investing in Indonesia.
